Postpaid / Contract packages review

Hi there… so here comes one of those periodic review of rates and feature offerings of mobile services in Pakistan. Previously, I did this on prepaid packages available; this time I intend to do it on postpaid or contract packages. As you all know there are multiple packages available for postpaid, so I’ll just stick with the most basic package of each service provider, or with the same monthly charge / line rent.

All the above offer a monthly fixed Data service package at PKR 500. All prices are exclusive of taxes.

I haven’t done a comparative of rates and how they work out for calls. If you have any questions, please do check out the FAQ sections of each of the websites. And yes, I’ve deliberately left ZonG out of the picture because I don’t like their attitude of reaching out to the public. You can’t get away with slapping at others and showing off.

Here’s an edit… (20 February 2009)
Ufone has finally released the new postpaid rates and packages. The rates, however, seem to remain the same, with a minor change, that the billing will be on a per-minute basis, rather than the previous 30-second billing pulse.

My verdict… at this point, goes for Telenor’s new Persona rebranding … with new affordable rates for the mass. Now only if the overall quality of service on the network within urban areas become more reliable as is the case in rural areas.
